Writer's Block: Long Nights, Short Poems

It's the winter solstice in the Northern hemisphere, summer solstice in the Southern hemisphere, and Haiku Day in the U.S. Does that inspire you to write a three-line poem with five syllables in the first and last lines and seven in the middle line?

And for every hung-up person in the whole wide universe...

A lot of my friends seem to be down recently.

I have a rather long-winded Bob Dylan poem that probably speaks about how you feel and what you can do about it.

It's called "Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie" and you can read it here: http://www.bobdylan.com/songs/guthrie.html . If you'd rather listen to it than read it, or if you'd rather listen to it while you read it, then there are RealAudio and Windows Media versions there. For the songs, these usually feature clips of 1/2 to 1 minute, but for this poem it features the whole thing, all 8 minutes or so of it, or at least it did. I'll check to see if it still does... well, the Windows Media version is only 30 seconds long and I don't have RealAudio any more so I guess I'm Sith out'a luck... anyway, if you don't mind reading long poems then I recommend it.
